Ronaldo rumored to be engaged to marry

Cristiano Ronaldo looks to be single no more as rumors swirl that the Real Madrid star has asked current girlfriend Russian model Irina Shayk to marry in New York on Valentine's Day.

Ronaldo is said to have flown from Spain to New York to have dinner with his girlfriend of 10 months and presented the beauty with a single rose and got down on one new to propose.

The rumors state that Shayk was then snapped wearing a glitzy diamond ring after the night was complete.

FC Porto advance to Round of 16 despite loss

FC Porto fans breathed a sigh of relief on Wednesday night as the club lost at home in the second leg of the Europa League 1-0 to Sevilla but due to a first leg win of 2-1 in Spain advance to the Round of 16.

Luis Fabiano gave the visitors hope when scored the only goal of the game against his former club in the 71st minute but that was all the Spanish club could muster in this encounter.

FC Porto will now face CSKA Moscow in the next round as the look to advance to the quarter-finals of the competition with the first leg taking place on March 10/11 and the second leg on March 17/11.

Benfica and Sporting set to clash in Lisbon Derby

Benfica and Sporting get set to clash in their famous Lisbon Derby at Alvalade today. Benfica currently sit in second place in the Portuguese League with Sporting in third trailing their cross town rivals by twelve points.

Benfica defeated the Lions 2-0 in their first encounter of the season at the Luz but we would have to go back to the 2006/07 season for the Eagles last victory on the road during Portuguese League play.

Sporting will be looking to repay their rivals for the earlier loss and will be looking to increase their third place spot at they look to qualify for Europe.

Deloitte release list of top earning clubs

Deloitte has released their list of the top earning soccer clubs in the world and for the sixth straight year Real Madrid sit atop the list. The list is revenue made by each team coming from ticket sales, tv contract and merchandise.

Portuguese clubs prepared for Europa League encounters

Portuguese clubs get set to play in the Europa League Round of 32 matches tomorrow as FC Porto, Benfica, Sporting and Braga will all be in action. Benfica is the lone Portuguese club playing their first leg at home of the four as they host Stuttgart from Germany.

FC Porto will make the short trip to Spain to face Sevilla, while Sporting heads to Scotland to take on defending Scottish Champions Rangers. Braga will be in Poland looking to get one up on Lech Poznan.

Benfica and Braga's games will be kicking off 7:00pm CET time while FC Porto and Sporting will kick off at 9:05 CET, click on our Radio Broadcast tab to listen to the games LIVE.

A final farewell to Sporting's Liedson

As Liedson wraps up his playing career with Sporting we take a look at the Brazilian turned Portuguese, career in Portugal. Liedson arrived at Sporting from Corinthians in 2003 and has appeared in 214 league games and 311 in all competitions which include the Taca de Portugal, Champions League and Europa League all with Sporting.

Liedson turned Portuguese citizen in 2009 and joined the National side appearing in World Cup 2010, Liedson chipped in 174 goals wearing the green and white with an impressive 116 in league play. Levezinho as he is know at Avalade won two golden boots in Portugal the first coming in the 2004-05 season and the second in 2006-07.

Liedson was unable to win the Portuguese League while a member of Sporting but the club did capture two Taca de Portugal trophys and two Super Cups. Liedson now heads back from where he arrived as the 33 year old looks to wrap up his playing career in Corinthians.

Benfica win first leg over Porto in Taca Semis

Benfica went into the Dragao today and took the first leg victory over FC Porto in the fight for the Taca de Portugal Championship, Benfica got two early goals twenty five minutes into the game from Fabio Coentrao and Javi Garcia and held off the league leaders the rest of the way and with one man short after Coentrao was sent off in the 59th minute for the 2-0 victory. Benfica will now host FC Porto in the return encounter set for April 19/11
