Benfica coach Jorge Jesus has decided to rest players for this weekends encounter against Olhanense. Benfica will travel to Braga to play their second leg of the Europa League semi-final on May 5/11 and with this seasons League Championship already decided he has his focus on a bigger prize.
Benfica will sit out Oscar Cardozo, Luisao and Fabio Coentrao on Sunday as the head South to the Algarve, while Pablo Aimar will miss the game due to yellow cards.

Pablo Aimar to stay another year with Benfica
Pablo Aimar spoke earlier today with Radio Argentina FM 103.1 about his future with Benfica and the possible return home this summer to his native land and former team River Plate. The skilled midfielder let it be known that he is very happy at Benfica and is looking to honour the remainder of his contract which expires after the 2012 season. Aimar who turns 32 in November of this year will look more seriously at a return home after next season.

Benfica defeat Pacos Ferreira to win League Cup
Benfica have defeated Pacos Ferreira 2-1 to win their thrid straight League Cup today in Coimbra. Benfica got first half goals from Jara and Javi Garcia before an own goal by Luisao in the second half cut the lead to one. This made things a bit more interesting at the end but Benfica hung on for the victory.

Benfica will be looking to rebound after blowing their two goal advantage over Porto early this week and getting knocked out of the Taca de Portugal after reaching the semi-finals.

Guimaraes upset with Braga's handling of tickets prior to Derby
Guimaraes officials are steaming prior to their encounter with Braga as the two clubs meet for their Derby at AXA Stadium in Braga.Guimaraes states that Braga did not provide ticket sales to their supporters in which Braga rebuttaled that Guimaraes had until today to request 4500 tickets and they did not.
Braga later let it be known that they will put an additional 1500 tickets on sale in the coming days. AXA Stadium holds slightly over 30,000 spectators and it is rumoured that 28,500 tickets have already been sold to Braga fans for this encounter.
